TRAINING

Atkinson Riding Academy offers full training for your horse, whether you have a colt that needs starting, a horse with specific issues, or a horse that needs overall improvement with gaits and fluidity.

Full training board includes three rides plus one riding lesson for $950 a month. Prior to training, Atkinson Riding Academy will set goals for the horse and then set separate goals for the horse and rider. Owners are able to view as many training rides as they desire to watch the training techniques and progression of their horse. If the owners are unable to see the rides, a training log is also available all times letting them know when the horse was ridden and what was accomplished during each training session. Our instructors can also come to your farm as well for $70 per hour to train in the privacy and convenience of your own facility.

Our training techniques emphasize establishing a good working relationship with the horse on the ground and in the saddle. We school with classical dressage methods, teach balanced seat, emphasize communication between the horse and rider, and instruct on the biomechanics of horsemanship to produce horse and rider teams where the two become one.
